Coval
Operational weather intelligence § 00 ── Coval · 2026

Weather decisions
that cost
real money.

Unlike services that pipe computer-generated forecasts to every customer, every Coval briefing is built by a dedicated forecasting team focused on your operation, customized to your site, your schedule, and the decision you're about to make. The technology is how we scale the expertise, not replace it.

§ 01 The status quo

Generic forecasts weren't built for your P&L.

TV weather is written for a viewing audience. NWS bulletins are written for a coverage area. Neither was built for the GC deciding whether to pour on Thursday, the principal deciding whether to hold field day, the hospital deciding whether to activate its severe-weather plan, or the claims VP deciding where to send adjusters in the morning. Every one of those calls costs real money when it's wrong, in either direction. That cost is the market Coval serves.

§ 02 What you receive

Radar-verified damage reports for every severe weather event. Two formats, one source.

Every StormScan event lands as a single PDF for the ops team and a structured JSON export for the claims system. One artifact per role, ready to act on.

F / 01

Hail values you can defend at the street level

Coval matches every address against the surrounding radar cells and assigns it a property-specific hail value, not a regional average. Adjusters, roofers, and claims teams can defend the number at the street level.

F / 02

A damage model built for US homes

An impact function trained against laboratory hail testing and historical US insurance claims, built specifically for residential wood-frame construction. Damage estimates are capped at a defensible ceiling grounded in published fragility research, not the inflated maxes that legacy European models produce on US homes.

F / 03

A confidence score on every number

Radar can over- or under-call hail in certain storm environments. Coval cross-checks every observation against weather model fields and tags each property with a confidence score, so the people using the report know which numbers to trust at a glance.

F / 04

Know which streets to deploy to first

Coval ranks affected properties by estimated damage and groups them by city, so ops leads, adjusting managers, and roofing contractors know where to send crews first. Aggregate insured loss applies industry-standard claim-filing and deductible factors, ready to feed reserves and reinsurance conversations.

§ 03 Product family

One data pipeline. Three windows onto the storm.

Weather information, forecasts, and storm warnings for a variety of industries across the US. Coval's products are defined by when you need the intelligence: pre-event, post-event, and strategic. One source of truth across all three.

Tier 1 · Pre-event

StormCast

Site-specific forecasts and severe-weather alerts before the decision gets expensive.

  • Custom forecasts built for your operation, not a zip code
  • Real-time monitoring with SMS escalation on threshold
  • Go/no-go guidance for pours, events, field days, and fleet ops
  • A direct line to our forecasting team when the sky doesn't match the forecast
● Available now
Tier 2 · Post-event

StormScan

Radar-verified storm reports the morning after any severe weather event.

  • Every affected location scored against nationwide weather radar
  • Hail values against a US-calibrated damage model
  • Severity-ranked property lists with aggregate loss estimates
  • Branded PDF + JSON export for any downstream system
● Available now
Tier 3 · Strategic

StormBook

Long-horizon severe-weather exposure for site selection, underwriting, and planning.

  • Every address scored against years of historical radar
  • Geographic concentration and return-period maps
  • Forward-looking severe-weather probability layers
  • For carriers, real-estate, municipal analysts, and site selectors

§ 04 Who we work with

A short list of industries where a wrong weather call is a line item.

The common thread: the cost of overreacting is almost as bad as the cost of underreacting. Coval's job is to give you the call you can defend in either direction.

Insurance & claims

Verify damage at the street level so adjusters aren't wasted on false leads. Defend reserves with a number built for US construction, not a European model scaled to American homes.

StormScan StormBook

Construction & roofing

A site-specific forecast for this week's pour, not a generic county outlook. Verify which jobs actually took hail damage the morning after, before the ladders go up.

StormCast StormScan

Schools & districts

Field day, fall sports, bus routes, outdoor lockdowns. Get the call from our forecasting team before the morning standup, with the reasoning, not just the verdict.

StormCast

Hospitals & healthcare

Activate your severe-weather plan when the threat is real. Don't burn it on every line of storms that rolls across the county.

StormCast

Events & venues

Go or no-go on outdoor weddings, ribbon cuttings, and corporate gatherings. Made by someone watching your specific site, not an app watching a county.

StormCast

Landscaping & snow removal

Deploy crews with confidence. Accurate snowfall totals before the trucks roll, and a real phone number when the system shifts.

StormCast
§ 05 How we work

A short engagement. A direct line. A defensible output.

Step 01

Scope

A 30-minute call. Tell us the decision you're trying to make and the cost of getting it wrong. We'll tell you which product fits, and whether we can help at all.

Step 02

Configure

We set up your forecast schedule, alerting thresholds, or address set. StormScan onboarding is a single CSV and a coverage polygon. StormCast onboarding is a conversation about what you need to know and when.

Step 03

Deliver

Forecasts land on your schedule. Alerts fire when thresholds trip. Post-event reports land by 7 AM CT the morning after the storm, in whichever format your workflow needs.

Step 04

Adjust

You get a real phone number at 210 956-6088. When the forecast doesn't match reality, we answer the call. When thresholds need to change, we change them.

§ 06 The methodology

Built like a research instrument. Reviewed like one too.

An impact function is only as defensible as the data behind it. Coval's damage model is built against laboratory hail testing and historical US insurance claims. Every parameter, every limitation, documented and reviewable. § Coval methodology · v3.6
§ 07 ── Start a conversation

Tell us the decision. We'll tell you whether we can help.

Coval works with a small number of clients at a time. If your operation hinges on a weather call, whether that's a Thursday pour, a Friday game, a Monday claims queue, or a full-book underwriting review, we'd like to hear from you.
